Toronto, February 9, 2022 – Metro Ontario Inc. is proud to support the collective effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 by distributing free rapid antigen tests through its Metro and Food Basics stores in Ontario starting today.
“Our Metro and Food Basics teams have been committed to helping the communities we serve across Ontario during these trying times – offering vaccination in our pharmacies and providing a safe environment to shop for groceries. We agreed without hesitation with the Ontario government’s request to distribute free rapid antigen tests,” says Carmen Fortino, Executive Vice President, Ontario Division Head and National Supply Chain, METRO. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees who remain dedicated to serving our customers safely every day.”
All tests are provided by the Ontario government. The objective of the distribution program, established by the Ministry of Health, is to provide an additional safety measure to members of the public by widely distributing free COVID-19 rapid antigen tests through retail stores operating in Ontario.
Customers interested in receiving a free rapid antigen test kit for their household can make a request in store at our customer service counter and while supply lasts.
