Metro is back in Lincoln Heights neighbourhood with a new store

Ottawa, October 28, 2021 –  Metro is back in Lincoln Heights as it will open on Thursday, October 28 at 2525 Carling Ave, Ottawa its new location. It represents a major investment by Metro, adding 30 employees to the headcount, and features products and services tailored to the needs of the community.

The new, modern store is over 40,000 square feet and is Metro’s second brand new location in the Ottawa area since Kanata opened in August 2020. The new store in Lincoln Heights offers customers a variety of fresh and local products including Foodland Ontario produce, sustainable seafood and ready-made meals, full floral section, pharmacy and free electric vehicle charging stations. The new store’s product offering will be a welcomed addition to the community.

“This new store is a true reflection of Lincoln Heights. We are giving customers what they want including an expanded health and wellness offering, local products through our Locally Sourced program and a great selection of ready-made meals including stone baked artisan pizza and fresh rotisserie chicken. It is important to us that our store integrates with the community, so we’ve tailored our product offering and store décor to the neighbourhood,” says Joe Fusco, Senior Vice President, Metro.

To emphasize its commitment to playing an active role in the communities in which it operates, Metro will present $2,500 to the Britannia Woods Food Pantry, a partner of the Ottawa Food Bank and Feed Ontario, to help support those directly in the community.

“The pandemic has been tough for many people and their families, which is why we are pleased to provide 130 jobs for the community and provide customers with fresh, quality and local products,” says Nathan Pilson, Store Manager, Metro. “I’m looking forward to reopening our doors to the community we’ve been part of since 1986 and welcoming everyone to our new and modern store.”
