Metro donates $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the Lebanon Humanitarian Needs Appeal

Montreal, August 7, 2020 – Following the tragic explosion that struck the city and the people of Beirut on August 4, METRO announces a $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with local efforts responding to urgent needs as well as relief and recovery operations.

A fundraiser will also be deployed across all our banners - Metro, Food Basics, Super C, Première Moisson, Adonis, Jean Coutu and Brunet - in Ontario and Quebec to appeal to the generosity of customers to support this devastated community. Customers who wish to do so will be asked to support by adding a donation to their bill.

All money raised will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Lebanon Humanitarian Needs Appeal to help the hard-hit population.
