METRO donates $807 185 to the Canadian Red Cross to help Beirut

Montreal, September 8, 2020 – The vast fundraising campaign orchestrated with the help of customers and employees of Metro, Super C, Food Basics, Première Moisson, Adonis, Jean Coutu and Brunet, to raise money to help the city and the people of Beirut, raised the sum of $757,185.

This is in addition to the $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross announced by METRO on August 7 and brings the total donation to $807,185.

This amount will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Lebanon Humanitarian Needs Appeal and will directly contribute to the needs and to the relief and recovery operations that are taking place following the explosion that struck the Lebanese capital on August 4.
