Food Basics Joins the Bolton Community

Local grocer supports The Exchange to help the community with food support for those in need

Bolton (ON), June 25, 2020 – On June 25, 2020, Food Basics officially opened the doors of its newest location in Bolton, ON, in the Bolton County Plaza. A virtual ribbon cutting ceremony was held that morning, with Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson and John Manax, Vice President of Operations, Food Basics, participating.

This will be Food Basics’ first location in Bolton, bringing approximately 100 new jobs to the community. This stunning 29, 499 square foot location offers customers organic produce, fresh rotisserie chicken, Ontario Lottery & Gaming, and a wide array of its high-quality, budget friendly Irresistibles and Selection products.

“As this is our first Food Basics in Bolton and the Caledon region, this is an exciting opportunity for the community to get to know us as a discount grocer,” says John Manax, Vice President of Operations, Food Basics. “During these times when the community is supporting each other in any way possible, we look forward to serving local residents with quality products at always great prices.”

“We’re thrilled to have Food Basics joining the Bolton community,” says Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson. “This new location is playing a key role in supporting the town’s economic growth and offering residents an affordable source of fresh groceries.”

To emphasize its commitment to the Bolton community, a cheque of $2,000 was presented at the grand opening to The Exchange, part of Caledon Community Services, which offers residents of Caledon reliable food support through access to nutritious food and community programs.

Food Basics is taking all the necessary steps to keep employees, customers and the entire community safe and healthy. The store will be sanitized regularly according to the strictest hygiene standards, including increased frequency of equipment cleaning, especially in high-traffic areas.

Since 1995, Food Basics has been helping customers save money on their grocery needs by providing Always More for Less. Food Basics operates on three guiding principles: Always Fresh, Always in Stock and Always at Great Prices. Food Basics is the discount banner of Metro Ontario Inc. and currently operates 138 stores across Ontario.
