OMPLETION OF MAJOR RENOVATIONS AT THE METRO MESSIER - FORT-ST-LOUIS A COMPLETELY REINVENTED STORE

Montreal, May 25, 2017 – The inauguration marking the completion of the major renovation work carried out at the Metro Messier Fort-St-Louis in Boucherville, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, took place this morning. The renovations began last February and resulted in revamping the 24,000 sq. ft. store from A to Z, thus providing consumers with a greatly improved shopping experience, entirely new décor and, most importantly, more products and services.

Several members of Metro’s management team and of the Messier family were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, including Denis Messier, President of groupe Messier, Charles-Antoine Messier, the store’s director, Patrick Hamelin, Operations Supervisor for groupe Messier and Denis Brisebois, Vice President, Retail Operations, Metro.

Fresher and more complete
Freshness, one of Metro’s top priorities, is omnipresent inside the store. The large produce department includes local products in line with the seasons and fresh-cut fruit. The meat department offers a selection of greatly improved products, as does the homemade and microbrewery beer section, to which many new varieties have been added. The pastry service counter has been redesigned and completes the new furnishings and new equipment in the store. The Metro also boasts a wide array of products from Première Moisson, the well-known Quebec bakery, and of prepared dishes for consumers looking for a ready-to-eat meal solution. Finally, consumers can expect to see something new in every department, notably in the gluten-free, organic and ethnic products section.

Store director Charles-Antoine Messier, along with his team of 70 employees, are very proud of their store and invite the local and regional clientele to pay them a visit.
