MONTREAL, July 9, 2015 - Metro becomes the first food retailer in Canada to make its my Metro mobile app available on Apple Watch. Owners of the watch will now be able to manage their grocery list right from their wrist, making their in-store experience even more convenient.
Since launching its digital ecosystem in 2013, Metro has continued to innovate by adding improvements that provide a simplified shopping experience. “We want to make things easier for our customers and push their personalized shopping experience even further” said Marc Giroux, Vice-President, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer for Metro. “This new technological innovation stems from our willingness to optimize digital possibilities for the benefit of our customers in order to assist them in their purchasing process” he added.
Not only will consumers have quick access to their grocery list and be able to check off items right from their wrist, they will be notified each week when new electronic coupons and circulars are put online, which they can view on their mobile phone.
Metro is strengthening its position as a food industry leader by offering more innovative and personalized tools designed to simplify the life of consumers, including the launch of Just for me in March of 2015. The new features offered to metro&moi members in Quebec and Air Miles members in Ontario include a personalized circular providing the weekly specials set up according to their purchasing preferences, and the essentials, meaning the frequently purchased items that can easily be added to the grocery list.
