METRO signs a partnership with SupplyShift

Montreal, February 21, 2023 - At METRO, we actively seek to work with suppliers who share our commitment to responsible practices and act accordingly. Responsible procurement is a fundamental aspect of our business. To guide us in achieving our goals, METRO signed an agreement last February with SupplyShift, an American company specializing in technological solutions for the management of supply chain sustainability and risks. This partnership is a step further in verifying our suppliers' compliance with the principles of our Supplier Code of Conduct for responsible procurement, which are business ethics, respect for workers, environmental protection and respect for animal health and welfare. This project covers all our suppliers of goods and services, and will enable us to document certain additional elements related to our corporate responsibility plan’s objectives.

Over the past few months, we have initiated the assessment of our suppliers using SupplyShift's online platform, with the support of their ESG experts for data validation. This approach will strengthen our understanding of our suppliers' practices and enable us to make more informed decisions when it comes to responsible procurement.
