Opening of Metro Plus Beaulieu Mont-Royal Fabre

A New Modern Store in the Heart of Plateau-Mont-Royal

Montreal, February 26, 2026 - This morning, Dominic and Stéphane Beaulieu proudly celebrated the official opening of the Metro Plus Beaulieu Mont Royal Fabre, a brand new store located at 1490 Avenue du Mont Royal East. With a total investment of $16 million, the 21,300 sq. ft. store enhances the food offering in one of Montréal’s most vibrant and densely populated neighbourhoods. This will be the Beaulieu family’s fifth Metro store, and the third one located on the Plateau.

A Store Designed for a High‑Pedestrian Neighbourhood

In the heart of Plateau‑Mont‑Royal, this new Metro Plus reflects the shopping habits of an urban environment where customers mainly travel on foot and make more frequent visits.

Metro Plus Beaulieu Mont‑Royal Fabre offers a wide variety of fresh and specialty products, including a large assortment from Québec. Customers will find a great selection of ciders, an impressive selection of craft beers from microbreweries such as BreWskey, Dieu du Ciel, and Messorem, as well as teas and herbal blends from Maison de Thé Camellia Sinensis. The store also carries products from Montreal‑based artisans, including ice creams from Les Givrés, pies from Carrément Tarte, coffees from local Montreal roasters and a variety of ready‑to‑eat options from Latina. Customers can also find specialties from Au Pied de Cochon, such as its famous maple syrup pie, tourtière, pea soup, baked beans, and other specialties.

In addition, the store offers a selection of imported gourmet delicacies, including fine cheeses and charcuterie. Customers can enjoy freshly baked pizzas, ready‑to‑eat meals prepared by an in‑store chef, an Adonis counter, a Shop Santé section, and the full Aki Sushi experience (Grill, Thai, sushi, and the Boba bubble tea).

“We are extremely proud to open our fourth store in Montréal, and especially here, in a neighbourhood we know very well. The Plateau is part of our personal and professional history, and it was important for us to offer a modern, welcoming grocery store that reflects the reality of the people who live here,” said Dominic Beaulieu, co owner of the new Metro Plus. “The team of some 80 colleagues, led by Store Manager Émile Tessier, is excited to welcome residents of the neighbourhood and surrounding area.”

The store will also offer home delivery and the click‑andcollect option for online grocery orders and will be available on the anti‑waste apps FoodHero and Too Good To Go.

To mark the opening, a $5,000 donation was made to the organization Partage & solidarité. This same organization will also be part of the grocer’s food recovery program that redistributes unsold but perfectly edible products.
