Mr. Motz was named CEO of Walgreens Company on August 28, 2025, as part of the company's takeover by Private Equity firm, Sycamore Partners. From 2018 to 2025, he served as the Chief Executive Officer for Staples US. Retail. Prior to this, Mr. Motz served as Chief Operating Officer at Loblaw Companies. Preceding this role, he served as President of Shoppers Drug Mart, following its acquisition by Loblaw Companies in 2014. Earlier in his career, he held various merchandising and operating roles at Sobeys.
