MONTREAL, May 28, 2015 - Following over 3 months of work, the new Super C in Rouyn, the chain’s 89th in Quebec, opened its doors this morning. With a total surface area of 45,000 square feet, this large scale project was made possible thanks to a 5 million dollar investment. No fewer than 90 people are employed at this new discount store.

Now it’s done: we can finally serve the clientele of Rouyn-Noranda”, said Jean-Guy Tremblay, Vice-President and General Manager of Super C. “Customers will undoubtedly enjoy the wide selection of fresh grocery products at very competitive prices as well as our team of friendly employees.”
Zero compromise
At Super C, customers make zero compromise thanks to satisfaction guarantees: always fresh, always in stock, always great prices. Consumers shopping at this store will have access to a counter with quality meats prepared by butchers on-site, a bakery where bread will be baked on-site every day, a self-serve cheese and deli meat department with over 500 products, a wide variety of fresh produce, as well as a large offering of grocery products, including several being offered under the Selection and Irresistibles private labels.
Regional products
Area products will also be very present, including la Boucherie du Lac, Eska water, La Fraisonnée and les Œufs Richard.
Food recovery
As soon as summer arrives, la Ressourcerie Bernard-Hamel will collect Super C’s unsold food. As a result, food products from the bakery, deli meat and cheese and meat departments will be gathered up by the organization and then redistributed to its clientele. This should translate into the organization recovering approximately 200 kilos of food each week, or 2 tonnes per month.
